RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends that the Equity and Human Relations Advisory Committee discuss the report from the Latino Heritage Month Ad Hoc Subcommittee on the Latino Heritage Month event date and plan; and (2) consider approval of the report's recommendations, including selecting a date and location, and determine next steps; and (3) Provide direction to staff if deemed appropriate.
BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION
At the June 27, 2023, regular meeting, Chair Valverde achieved consensus to agendize this item during the July 25, 2023, regular meeting. During the July 25, 2023, regular meeting, Chair Valverde achieved consensus to discuss the creation of a Latino Heritage Month Ad Hoc Subcommittee to plan a Latino Heritage Month event in September/October 2023 and to appoint Chair Valverde, Member Rona, Member Aguirre and Member Moses to the Latino Heritage Month Celebration Ad Hoc Subcommittee.
