RECOMMENDATION

Staff recommends that the Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration and Juneteenth Celebration Advisory Committee receive and file updates on the recommended entertainers for the Juneteenth 2026 Celebration from the Juneteenth PR, Marketing and Entertainment Ad Hoc Subcommittee.


BACKGROUND

The Juneteenth PR, Marketing and Entertainment Ad Hoc Subcommittee for Martin Luther King Jr. and Juneteenth Celebrations was established on August 23, 2025. The subcommittee's primary role is to support the special event staff by identifying PR, Marketing and Entertainment opportunities for the Juneteenth Celebration event. This report serves as an update from the subcommittee members on their progress and recommendations for entertainers.

MCJC Advisory Committee Ad Hoc Subcommittees An "ad hoc" subcommittee serves only a limited or single purpose. It is not perpetual, and it is dissolved when its specific task is completed. An Ad Hoc Subcommittee may be formed or dissolved at any Advisory committee meeting, as long as the discussion has been placed on the agenda in advance.
