RECOMMENDATION:

It is recommended the City Council (1) discuss the proposal of naming the City Hall Inner Courtyard in honor of former Culver City Chief Administrative Officer Dale Jones, and (2) (if desired) approve such proposal and provide direction to the City Manager as deemed appropriate.


BACKGROUND AND DISCUSSION:

At the August 24, 2015 City Council meeting, the City Council provided consensus to consider this item. Attached is City Council Policy Statement 2006-01 "Naming of City Facilities" for ease of reference.

This item was originally presented to the City Council on September 15, 2015. At that time, the City Council referred the matter to the Parks, Recreation, and Community Services Commission (PRCS Commission). At the Regular Meeting of the PRCS Commission held on November 3, 2015, the PRCS Commission considered the following item:
