BACKGROUND: On March 11 2013 the City Council authorized staff to submit a competitive Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) grant application to CalRecycle. The following project was submitted: Offer more HHW collections events within the City. Produce marketing materials such as school educational pieces a video marketing piece that gives information on how to dispose of HHW and a web page. DISCUSSION: The City applied for the maximum of $50 000 to implement an enhanced HHW program. The City s grant application was selected for partial funding.
