RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends that the Cultural Affairs Commission select, by majority vote, a Chairperson and Vice Chairperson to serve in that capacity until the next reorganization in July 2022 or thereafter.
BACKGROUND & PROCEDURE
At the special meeting on June 14, 2021, the City Council considered six (6) applications for the Cultural Affairs Commission.
Commissioner Brenda Williams was reappointed to the Cultural Affairs Commission in Seat 1 for a Second Term (July 1, 2021 to June 30, 2025). Leora O’Carroll was appointed as a new Commissioner to Seat 2 (replacing Len Dickter) for a First Term (July 1, 2021 to June 30, 2025). The City Clerk confirmed that Commissioners Williams and O’Carroll attended mandatory Brown Act and Ethics Training on June 24, 2021 and were administered the Oath of Office at that meeting.
Chair Fleischer shall preside over the meeting and take nominations for the selection of a new Chair and Vice Chair for Fiscal Year 2021-2022. The newly selected Chair shall preside over the meeting upon the conclusion of this agenda item.
