RECOMMENDATION

Staff recommends the City Council make appointment(s) to the Cultural Affairs Commission (CAC) and the Landlord Tenant Mediation Board (LTMB).

BACKGROUND / DISCUSSION
At the January 12, 2026, City Council meeting, City Council discussed current vacancies on the Commissions, Boards and Committees (CBCs) and provided support to focus on critical vacancies first. Staff was directed to prepare a staff report to appoint Heather Moses to the CAC and the two applicants to the LTMB (Donald Cole to the Tenant Seat and Chris Nunez to the Member-at-Large Seat). Additionally, the City Council requested that the student position on the BPAC be filled if the interested student who had attended the November 2025 BPAC meeting was available. Unfortunately, conflicts with the remaining meeting dates prevent the student from being appointed at this time.
All positions will be interim appointments through June 30, 2026. During the annual process, the appointees will each be considered for a full term.

The three applicants are eligible for their specific positions, and each confirmed their interest and ability to fill the respective positions through June 30, 2026.

FISCAL ANALYIS

There is no fiscal impact from confirming appointments to the vacancies on the CAC and LTMB.
