RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends the City Council: (1) accept the work performed by Superior Pavement Markings, Inc.; (2) authorize filing a Notice of Completion; and (3) authorize release of retention payment in the amount of $15,966.08 after the expiration of the 35-Day lien period for the Washington Boulevard Striping and Bike Lane Project, PZ-965 
BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION
On September 28, 2015, the City Council approved a construction contract with Superior Pavement Markings, Inc, for the Washington Boulevard Striping and Bike Lane Project, PZ-965.  The existing lane line striping and pavement markings on Washington Boulevard west of Sepulveda Boulevard to the westerly City boundary of Walnut Avenue/Del Rey Avenue were faded and needed to be repainted.  The project consisted of removal of the existing lane lines and markings, spotting new lane lines to accommodate creation of the bike lanes and sharrows, and restriping the roadway.
