RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends the City Council approve an interim Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Culver City Chamber of Commerce through June 30, 2026, regarding cooperation in certain joint events, projects, and economic development-related activities.
BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION
The City and the Culver City Chamber of Commerce (Chamber) have entered into multiple MOUs since 2009, to define the organizational relationship with the City. These MOUs outline specific duties and responsibilities regarding community events and activities that align with the City's economic development efforts. The last MOU inadvertently expired on June 30, 2024, prior to a new MOU being negotiated between the parties.
The prior MOU details the City's role to relative to the participation, sponsorship and promotion of certain events and programs that benefit the business community at large. Similarly, the Chamber will promote City programs and resources to increase awareness to their membership.
