RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends the City Council adopt a resolution authorizing the City Manager to submit a grant application to the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority's (Metro) 2015 Wayfinding Signage Grant Pilot Program in the amount up to $29,925.
BACKGROUND
The Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plan (BPMP) adopted in 2010 suggests a need for wayfinding signage along Washington Boulevard. This need was also recommended in the Culver City Bicycle and Pedestrian Safety Assessment conducted by consultant Fehr and Peers in 2014.
Metro has recently announced a Wayfinding Signage Grant Pilot Program. One of Metro's responsibilities is to allocate local, state, and federal discretionary transportation funds through the preparation of a Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) for Los Angeles County.
