Fulwood (03/18/09) Attachments: RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends the City Council award a construction contract to National Demolition Contractors as the lowest responsive and responsible bidder to complete the work for the Lindberg Park Hut Demolition Project P 731 BACKGROUND Lindberg Park Hut (adjacent to the tennis court and playground) (Hut) located at 5041 Rhoda Way was used by the City s Parks Recreation and Community Services Department as a youth sport storage room. It is believed to have been constructed sometime in the 1930 s. The building was closed by the Risk Management Division more than five (5) years ago due to its poor condition. In light of the current condition of the Hut and the extensive effort and cost to rehabilitate the aged structure on January 26 2009 the City Council authorized advertising for bids to demolish the Hut. DISCUSSION: The Project was advertised for bids in the local newspaper on the City s website and in trade journals. On March 5 2009 the Deputy City Clerk publicly opened the bids.
