RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends that the Equity and Human Relations Advisory Committee (EHRAC) (1) receive a report from Chair Carlos Valverde in relation to soccer prohibition signage posted in Culver City public parks; (2) if so desired, discuss and consider approval of the report's recommendations; and (3) determine next steps as deemed necessary.
BACKGROUND
At the February 27, 2024, Special Meeting, Chair Valverde voiced his concern over the adult soccer prohibition signage posted in Culver City Parks. Chair Valverde obtained consensus to bring the item back for EHRAC consideration at the April 23, 2024, meeting.
DISCUSSION
Based on the report provided by Chair Valverde, the following steps are proposed:
* Creation of an EHRAC Ad Hoc Subcommittee to address the following:
o Conduct an inquiry about the history of the soccer prohibition signs in Culver City Parks.
o Elicit information/remarks/comments from community members regarding the signs.
