Fiesta La Ballona
WHEREAS, the City of Culver City and its citizens look forward each year to the annual
celebration of our heritage through the City’s 56
th
Fiesta La Ballona event; and
WHEREAS, Culver City takes great pride in the full quality of life enjoyed by all its
citizens; and
WHEREAS, Culver City supports events that enhance residents’ “sense of community”;
and
WHEREAS, in recognition of its statement and mission, the City Council has
established an annual celebration to inspire and promote tolerance, understanding,
goodwill and better relations among all people, and to encourage individuals to practice
living in harmony with people from multi-cultural origins; and
WHEREAS, Fiesta La Ballona will provide a wide range of memorable experiences for
residents of all ages including live music, a wide variety of ethnic foods, vendor booths
and community shows; and
WHEREAS, the Culver City Parks, Recreation and Community Services Department, in
partnership with members of the Fiesta La Ballona Committee and other City
Departments, meets throughout the year in preparation for this important civic event.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Culver City,
California, hereby proclaims Monday, August 20
th
through Sunday, August 26
th
as
“Fiesta La Ballona Week” and encourages all of our citizens, their families, and friends
to participate and share in the many activities planned for this special week.
