RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends that the Equity and Human Relations Advisory Committee (EHRAC): (1) receive a report from the 2026 October Community Conversations Ad Subcommittee; (2) if so desired, discuss and consider approval of the report’s recommendations; and (3) determine next steps as deemed necessary.
BACKGROUND
At the July 28, 2026, Regular Meeting, a discussion took place regarding the 2026-2027 Public Events, Projects and Budget Ad Hoc subcommittee report about hosting a community conversation event subsequent to the City of Culver City’s United Against Hate, Emotional Intelligence for the Community, training taking place on October 21, 2026.
EHRAC reached consensus to host a story and small group community conversation/discussion entitled: Oppression, Forgotten Histories, Personal Perspectives, and Healing on October 21, 2026, as a part of United Against Hate Week.
In addition, at the July 28, 2026, Regular Meeting, EHRAC reached consensus to form a 2026 October Community Conversations Ad Hoc Subcommittee, appoint Vice Chair Moammar, Members Bano and Rona thereto, and hear ...
