RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends the City Council approve the final plans and specifications and authorize the publication of a Notice Inviting Bids for the Streetlight Improvement Project, PZ-684 along Washington Place between Zanja Street and Centinela Avenue and Washington Boulevard between Centinela Avenue and Inglewood Boulevard and between Berryman Avenue and Sepulveda Boulevard.
BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION
The Washington Place and Washington Boulevard Streetlight Improvement Project, PZ-684 will replace and upgrade the existing streetlight system, which has become obsolete and requires replacement for several reasons:
* It is on series circuit and is over 30 years old;
* It has lead wiring which tends to corrode; and,
* It runs on high voltage.
The limits of this project's streetlight improvements are as follows;
* Washington Place between Zanja Street and Centinela Avenue;
* Washington Boulevard between Centinela Avenue and Inglewood Boulevard; and,
* Washington Boulevard between Berryman Avenue and Sepulveda Boulevard
