Fulwood (11/05/08) RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends the City Council approve an agreement related to the temporary display of public art by Jedediah Caesar entitled The Gleaner s Stone in the public right of way (sidewalk on Marcasel Ave. just north of Washington Blvd.) in conjunction with the 2008 California Biennial exhibition; and that the City Council authorize staff to spend up to $3 000 toward transportation/installation costs and additional marketing as part of the agreement. BACKGROUND & DISCUSSION: On March 11 2008 the Cultural Affairs Commission ( CAC ) considered a proposal from Lauri Firstenberg Founder and Director/Curator of LA ART and guest curator of the 2008 California Biennial for a temporary outdoor public art installation in Culver City in conjunction with that exhibition.
