BACKGROUND: In accordance with Section 10002 of the Elections Code of the State of California the governing body of any city or district may by resolution request the Board of Supervisors of the county to permit the County Elections Official to render specified services to the city or district relating to the conduct of an election; e.g. prepare and furnish a computer record of names and addresses of all eligible registered voters so labels may be printed to attach to sample ballot pamphlets. Subject to approval of the Board of Supervisors these services shall be performed by the County Elections Official. To comply with the provisions of Section 10002 of the Elections Code it is required that this resolution be approved and adopted.
