RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends the City Council approve a professional services agreement with On Duty Health, PLLC for a one-year term with an option to amend for an additional three years in an amount not-to-exceed $75,774.00 annually to provide onsite annual physicals to Culver City Fire Department (CCFD) firefighters.
BACKGROUND
The health and safety of the members of the Culver City Fire Department is a top priority. Annual comprehensive firefighter physicals help reduce the risk of injury, illness, and morbidity among firefighters, while improving overall health, safety, and operational effectiveness in protecting life, property, and the environment.
CCFD is guided by two standards that provide recommendations for the health and safety of firefighters:
* NFPA 1582: the Standard on Comprehensive Occupational Medical Program for Fire Departments, which states in Section 7.1.2, "Occupational medical evaluations shall be conducted as a baseline for surveillance and annually thereafter."
