Fulwood (06/07/06) City Controller Approval: Marlee Chang (06/07/06) RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends that the City Council amend the existing construction contracts to FS Construction and Torres Construction to provide on call services to perform necessary work to include the construction of new bus pads and minor alleyway improvements in support of the Public Works Department and Transportation Department and increase the total aggregate not to exceed cost amount to $200 000. Staff is proposing that the contracts continue to expire June 30 2007. BACKGROUND: The Public Work Department receives numerous requests from residents business owners and city staff regarding minor roadway pavement and infrastructure repair work citywide. The Public Works Maintenance Operations Division responds and addresses the majority of these requests. However due to reduction of staffing resulting from early retirements and layoffs in fiscal year 2002/2003 the Public Works Department Maintenance and Operations Division has to prioritize and respond to higher priority and larger repair work.
