RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends that the Disability Advisory Committee (DAC) receive and file updates from the members of the Ad Hoc Subcommittees.
BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION
Staff has prepared this report to give the Disabilities Advisory Committee Members an opportunity to hear updates from their Ad Hoc Subcommittee colleagues. The current list of DAC Ad Hoc Subcommittees, their members, and the description of their respective topic areas, is provided as Attachment 1.
The Role of Ad Hoc Subcommittees
An "Ad Hoc" Subcommittee serves only a limited or single purpose. It is not perpetual, and it is dissolved when its specific task is completed. An Ad Hoc Subcommittee may be formed or dissolved at any noticed meeting, as long as the discussion has been placed on the agenda in advance. Once an Ad Hoc Subcommittee has been created, its only role is to make recommendations to the associated Commission, Board or Committee (CBC) related to its topic area. By consensus of the CBC, a separate agenda item is sometimes prepared and presented on a specific Ad Hoc Subcommittee subject matter.
FISCAL IMPACT
There is no fiscal impact associated with this discussion.
