RECOMMENDATION

Staff recommends the City Council approve the final plans and specifications and authorize the publication of a notice inviting bids for Sidewalk, Curb Ramp and Driveway Approach Replacement Project, PZ-428 and PCC Pavement Replacement Project, PS-001.


BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION

The City receives maintenance requests from the public for broken and uplifted concrete sidewalks, curb ramps, driveway approaches, and street sections. The Public Works Department compiles and investigates resident requests to assess the damage and potential hazard to pedestrians. Besides the ongoing repairs completed by Public Works Maintenance and Operations Staff, the Engineering Division regularly manages projects that can address many locations at once, prioritizing locations based on severity, budget constraints, and previous maintenance measures (see attached locations list).

The bid documents that include both the construction exhibits and specifications have been prepared by engineering staff.
