Nachbar (06/08/11) RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends the City Council approve an Amendment to the Existing Joint Use Agreement with the Culver City Unified School District (CCUSD) extending the term thereof for an additional six months (to December 31 2011). BACKGROUND: The City and the CCUSD have been the parties to a Joint Use Agreement (Agreement) for several years. Under the terms of the Agreement either party may terminate the agreement by providing the other party with at least six months notice. The CCUSD provided such timely notice and in accordance with the terms of the Agreement the Agreement will expire on June 30 2011. DISCUSSION: Since receipt of the notice from CCUSD the City Manager Assistant City Manager and Parks Recreation and Community Services Director have met with the Superintendent and the Assistant Superintended several times to informally discuss how the two parties should proceed.
