BACKGROUND: The mission of the Parks Division of the Culver City Parks, Recreation and Com- munity Services Department is to develop, maintain, rejuvenate, and repair at professional standards, all parks, landscaped median strips, parkwaysand other landscaped City facilities for the safety, health and welfare of the public. The Parks Division, currently headed by Parks Manager Patrick Reynolds, has a well- deserved reputation for performing excellent work in a timely manner whilere- maining responsive to the needs of the community. The PRCS Commission gets a first-hand view of the Parks Division’s accomplishments each year during their tour of Culver City Parks and Facilities. DISCUSSION: The 2011 Parks Tour was held on October 22 and October 23. This Agenda Item has been prepared to give thePRCS Commission an opportunity to receive information and ask questions regarding park and facility improvements that have been completed since the October Parks Tour. A slide show presentation has been prepared to highlight important Parks Division achievements.Information on ongoing and upcoming projects will also be included in this evening’s report. FISCAL ANALYSIS: There is no fiscal impact associated with the discussion of this Agenda Item MOTIONS: That the Parks, Recreation and Community Services Commission: Receive information regarding park and facility improvements.
