RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends the City Council approve a five-year general services agreement with South Coast Industrial Door to perform on-call door and gate repairs at 28 City-owned facilities in an amount not-to-exceed $100,000 annually, for a total amount not-exceed $500,000 over the five-year term.
BACKGROUND
The City owns 28 different facilities that have mechanical and/or electric doors and gates (with and without access control systems attached to them) and that require repairing or replacement on an on-call basis. The gates and access control systems are primarily manufactured by LiftMaster Gate. However, the City also has Horton Door, Besam Gate, and a few other make/models installed.
DISCUSSION
Staff released Request for Proposals No. 2549 ("RFP") to perform on-call gate/door repairs over five years in an amount not-to-exceed $100,000 annually and received a total of four proposals. They were evaluated using the following criteria contained in the RFP:
