RECOMMENDATION

Staff recommends that the Civil Service Commission approve the new recruitment bulletin for Landscape Architect Project Coordinator.


BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION

During the June 10, 2024, City Council Fiscal Year Budget process meeting, the City Council approved the request from the Parks, Recreation and Community Services Department to add a new position titled Landscape Architect Project Coordinator.

The Landscape Architect Project Coordinator is a management position that reports to the Parks, Recreation and Community Services Director. This position is primarily responsible for managing park projects. The position is responsible for communicating, coordinating, and providing development oversight. This position is also responsible for producing landscape improvement plans, details, and specifications, in addition to providing landscape architecture plan check services.

The new recruitment bulletin, Attachment 1, is being submitted for review and approval in anticipation of opening a new recruitment in November 2024.

The proposed bulletin includes necessary recruitment information as well as the examination components. The examination components include an oral appraisal interview weighted at 100%.
