Fulwood (05/23/07) RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends the City Council discuss the issue of creation of a Council Committee which would have jurisdiction of the subject of the Washington/National Specific Plan create a City Council Committee with such jurisdiction and appoint members thereto. BACKGROUND: On April 16 2007 Councilmember Silbiger requested and received City Council consensus to have this issue placed on a future agenda for Council s consideration. DISCUSSION: At the April 16 2007 City Council meeting the City Council discussed the role and number of City Council Committees. As part of this discussion individual Councilmembers expressed an interest in further discussing the appointment of two Councilmembers to a Committee with jurisdiction over the Washington National Specific Plan process. The Council may wish to consider the appointment of Mayor Corlin and Councilmember Malsin to a Committee named Washington/National Specific Plan Ad Hoc Committee.
