RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends the City Council (1) authorize acceptance of grant funds from the Open Streets Grant Program Cycle 5, in the amount of $500,000 for the CicLAvia Culver City Meets Venice event Program ID# CYC2415; and (2) approve a related budget amendment to appropriate the grant funds (four-fifths vote required).
BACKGROUND
On January 25, 2024, the City received confirmation from the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro) that the City's Open Streets Program grant application was selected for funding. Metro approved the grant amount of $500,000 with funding provided by Los Angeles County Proposition C funds. The grant provides for all planning and implementation services to hold a one-day open street event.
Pursuant to the grant agreement, CicLAvia is responsible for production of the event which includes advanced planning, permitting, outreach, programming, activating hubs and crossing points, and working with key stakeholders in programming the event[SE1][MA2].
