RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends the City Council approve an amendment to the existing Lease with L.A. Goal for a portion of the City-Owned property located at 4909 Overland Avenue extending the term of such Lease for a period of 25 years (to April 30, 2052).
BACKGROUND
On September 2, 2003, the City entered into a lease (Original Lease) with L.A. Goal for a portion of the City-Owned property located at 4909 Overland Avenue (Property). On February 9, 2004, the City Council authorized an extension of the term of the Original Lease to April 30, 2027.
DISCUSSION
As stated on their website, L.A. Goal has been dedicated to improving the lives of people with developmental disabilities. Through the lease of the Property, L.A. Goal is able to provide their members with training and resources which "...improves and elevates the lives of people with developmental disabilities."
