BACKGROUND: The Culver City Transfer Station located at 9275 West Jefferson Boulevard was originally constructed in 1984. Since that time it has been under continuous heavy use. Trash recyclable material and green waste are delivered and sorted in the facility before being sent to recycling facilities refuse to energy conversion facilities or various landfills. Due to its heavy use the facility has experienced some wear and tear as well as damage. The tipping floor was resurfaced with iron aggregate cement in 2011.
