Lamont Ewell (05/12/10) RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends the City Council receive the City Manager s Proposed Budget for Fiscal Year 2010 2011 and announce proposed dates for budget study sessions. DISCUSSION: Section 801 of the City Charter states: At least 45 days prior to the beginning of each fiscal year the City Manager shall submit a proposed budget to the City Council. After reviewing the proposed budget the City Council shall set the date and time for a public hearing on the proposed budget and at least 10 days prior to its scheduled date shall cause notice of such public hearing to be published in a newspaper circulated in the City and designated by the City Council. Copies of the proposed budget shall be available for public inspection in the office of the City Clerk at least 10 days prior to the public hearing. In compliance with Section 801 at tonight s City Council meeting the City Manager shall transmit to the City Council the City Manager s Proposed Budget for Fiscal Year 2010 2011.
