RECOMMENDATION

Staff recommends the City Council ratify the purchase of the recommended Fiscal Year 2025-2026 insurance policy renewals for Project Homekey and Wellness Village with an aggregate premium amount of approximately $297,952, as presented by the City's insurance broker Alliant Insurance Services Inc.


BACKGROUND

The City of Culver City is self-insured for major risk programs such as property, liability, excess earthquake/flood liability, general liability, auto, workers' compensation and other lines of insurance. To minimize the adverse effects of accidental losses and claims against the City and to protect the assets of the City from potential loss, the City annually purchases lines of insurance coverage to help minimize its risks.

On November 11, 2024, the City Council approved a professional services agreement with Alliant Insurance Services Inc. (Alliant) for insurance brokerage services. Under the terms of the agreement, Alliant analyzes the City's needs, the market conditions and recommends an annual insurance program for the City.
