RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends that the Parks, Recreation and Community Services (PRCS) Commission (1) review and comment on version two of the draft correspondence presented by the Child Care Programs Ad Hoc Subcommittee; and, (2) [if desired] finalize the correspondence, and approve its distribution to the City Council.
BACKGROUND
At the June 7, 2016 PRCS Commission meeting, the Commission: (1) received and filed an informational item regarding the Culver City Parks, Recreation and Community Services (PRCS) Department Day Care, Afterschool, and Camp Programs; (2) discussed the formation of an Ad Hoc Subcommittee related to child care issues; and, (3) formed the Child Care Programs Ad Hoc Subcommittee (CCP-AHS) and appointed Vice Chair Heineman and Commissioner Stuart to the newly-formed Ad Hoc Subcommittee.
Subsequently, the members of the Child Care Programs Ad Hoc Subcommittee drafted correspondence regarding a survey that they would like to conduct, and presented it at the July 5, 2016 PRCS Commission meeting for review and comment.
