RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends that the Cultural Affairs Commission select, by majority vote, a Chairperson and Vice Chairperson to serve in that capacity until the next reorganization in July 2026 or thereafter.
BACKGROUND & PROCEDURE
At the special meeting on June 2, 2025, the City Council considered nine (9) eligible applications for the Cultural Affairs Commission and interviewed the candidates in attendance at that meeting.
At the following regular City Council meeting on June 9, 2025 Leora O'Carroll was reappointed to Office No. 2, Nikki Diloreto was appointed to Office No. 1, and Shona Gupta was appointed to Office No. 3.
The City Clerk confirmed that Shona Gupta attended Brown Act and Ethics Training on June 26, 2025 and was administered the Oath of Office at that meeting.
Leora O'Carroll and Nikki Diloreto shall be administered the Oath of Office at the start of the regular meeting of the Cultural Affairs Commission on July 15, 2025.
Commissioner O'Carroll shall preside over the meeting and take nominations for the selection of a Chair and Vice Chair for Fiscal Year 2025 - 2026. The newly selected Chair shall preside over the meeting upon the conclusion of this agenda item.
