Nachbar (12/07/12) RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends the City Council approve the allocation of funds for the 2013 Performing Arts Grant Program as recommended by the Cultural Affairs Commission (CAC). BACKGROUND: Culver City s Performing Arts Grant Program was established in 1994. The Culver City Municipal Code stipulates that 25% of the money deposited into the Art Fund in the prior fiscal year be appropriated for this program in the current fiscal year. $40 000 is budgeted for Fiscal Year 2012/2013 and $5 000 is expected to be allocated from a contribution made in 2012 by Sony Pictures Entertainment. On July 10 2012 the CAC considered and approved the 2013 Notice of Funding Availability (NOFA) during its regularly scheduled meeting. During the week of July 23 2012 the NOFA for 2013 was issued.
