RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends the City Council (1) approve a three-year professional services agreement with Recreate Waste Collaborative LLC for educational outreach in an annual amount not-to-exceed $75,000; and (2) authorize the City Manager to approve two additional one-year terms for an additional amount not-to-exceed $75,000 per year.
BACKGROUND
Environmental policy from the federal, state, and local level updates and builds upon prior initiatives frequently, often requiring a public education element to assist with adoption. In order to adequately distribute information in a timely and comprehensible fashion, the Department of Public Works Environmental Programs & Operations Division (EPO) utilizes professional services to assist with public outreach. SB 1383 not only requires municipalities to meet certain thresholds of educational outreach, it also requires adaptation by all residents and businesses in order to comply.
