REGULAR MEETING OF THE November 1, 2009 PARKS, RECREATION AND COMMUNITY SERVICES COMMISSION CITY OF CULVER CITY, CALIFORNIA CHAIR VICKI DALY REDHOLTZ Call to Order The meeting of the Parks and Recreation Commission was called to order by Chair Vicki Daly Redholtz at 9:03 a.m. in the Veterans Memorial Parking Lot, 4117 Overland Avenue. o0o Roll Call Members Present: Chair Vicki Daly Redholtz Vice Chair Rick Hudson Commissioner Laura Stuart Commissioner Mary Ann Greene Members Excused: Commissioner Marianne Kim Commissioner Rick Hudson joined the group at Carlson Park. City Council Members Present: Mayor Scott Malsin Vice Mayor Gary Silbiger Councilmember Christopher Armenta Councilmember Micheál O’Leary Councilmember Andrew Weissman Staff Present: William LaPointe, Director, PRCS Also Present: Steven Gousley, CCUSD Board Member o0o Public Comment – Items Not on the Agenda. None. o0o C-3 2 Item A-1 Tour of City Parks Facilities. 1. Baldwin Hills Overlook • Questions and concerns were raised about lease agreements and rental amounts of the AMVETS, Boy Scouts, and the Rock and Mineral Club. • Should the Boy Scout Hut be made available for any community group to rent (without the Boys Scouts occupying the building?) 2. Syd Kronenthal Park • Discussed: Dogs in Parks issue 3. Blanco Park • Discussed: Lindberg Stone House Courtyard remediation; La Playa Pre-School lease agreement and rental rate concerns; razing of Parks & Recreation Hut for remediation purposes; repair/replacement of playground equipment. 4. El Marino Park • Discussed: rental policies for picnic areas and green turfed park area; which parks and areas of parks should be used as sports venues; park signage needed for directions, environment, and regulations/policies. 5. Fox Hills Park 6. Culver West Alexander 7. Tellefson Park o0o With no further business for the Commission to consider, the Park, Recreation and Community Services Commission adjourned to the next regular meeting, Thursday, November 5, 2009, at 7:00 PM in the Mike Balkman Council Chambers at City Hall.
