Cole for Jerry B. Fulwood (05/04/06) RECOMMENDATION: That the City Council consider the adoption of a Resolution permitting a Beer and Wine Garden at the 2006 Fiesta La Ballona Event (Attachment 1). BACKGROUND: On July 11 2005 the City Council introduced for a first reading an Ordinance amending the Culver City Municipal Code 13.03.025 (A) to grant the City Council authority to issue a permit for a beer and wine garden at the Fiesta La Ballona event (the Fiesta ). In addition the City Council adopted Resolution No. 2005 R050 permitting a Beer and Wine Garden at the 2005 Fiesta. A copy of the July 11 2005 staff report is provided in Attachment 2. The Fiesta La Ballona Committee (the Fiesta Committee ) is asking that the City Council once again approve their request for a Beer and Wine Garden during the 2006 Fiesta to be conducted by the Culver City Lions Club on August 25th 26th and 27th. On April 4 2006 the Parks and Recreation Commission (the Commission ) voted (4 0; Cooper absent) to recommend to the City Council that they adopt a Resolution permitting a Beer and Wine Garden at the 2006 Fiesta.
