RECOMMENDATION

Staff recommends the City Council adopt a Resolution approving the Legislative and Policy Platform (LPP) that guides the City's positions on state and federal legislation, and rescinding Resolution No. 2024-R081 (Attachment 1).


BACKGROUND

The Legislative and Policy Platform (LPP) outlines Culver City's official positions on legislative issues and guides its advocacy at the state and federal levels. It helps the City respond swiftly to matters affecting its interests and communicate effectively with legislators and the public. The City Manager's Office monitors legislation with City departments to protect and advance these interests. The current LPP was approved by the City Council on November 11, 2024, via Resolution No. 2024-R081. On January 13, 2025, Vice Mayor Puza and Council Member McMorrin were appointed to the Ad Hoc 2025 Legislative and Policy Platform Subcommittee.


DISCUSSION

City staff reviewed the current Legislative Policy Platform (LPP), and incorporated updates based on City Council priorities, Work Plans, and input from the Ad Hoc Subcommittee.
