BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION: On August 8 2011 the City Council authorized the temporary installation of asphalt speed humps on Culver Park Drive and Segrell Way between Sawtelle Boulevard and Slauson Avenue with the goal of speed calming traffic using these two streets to avoid the Sepulveda Boulevard widening project which was underway at that time. (City Council report is attached). The City Council directed that staff return in approximately six months to one year after the installation of the temporary speed humps and report on their effectiveness at reducing speeds. Based on the information provided in this report the City Council would determine if the speed humps should be removed or approved as permanent installations.
