RECOMMENDATION

Staff recommends the City Council approve the proposed workplan for the City Council Ad Hoc 2028 Summer Olympics Preparation Subcommittee.


BACKGROUND

On January 9, 2023 the City Council created the City Council Ad Hoc 2028 Summer Olympics Preparation Subcommittee, comprised of Council Members O'Brien and Puza. Since then, the Subcommittee has met three times to define its scope of work, resulting in a proposed Workplan. The Subcommittee is presenting the workplan for City Council review and approval.


DISCUSSION

The proposed City Council Ad Hoc 2028 Summer Olympics Preparation Subcommittee Workplan is as follows:

The City Council Ad Hoc 2028 Summer Olympics Preparation Subcommittee will advise and consult with City staff on the implementation of the following projects and programs related to the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics and Paralympics ("Olympics"). The Subcommittee will update this workplan as additional opportunities are discovered.
1. Create opportunities for Culver City residents and businesses to celebrate the Olympics while generating public awareness, excitement, and engagement.
