RECOMMENDATION

 

Staff recommends that the Equity and Human Relations Advisory Committee (EHRAC): 1) discuss a proposed general statement in response to future local and/or national acts of violence, hatred, and/or injustice; 2) discuss recommendations for next steps, and; 3) provide direction to staff as deemed appropriate.

 

 

BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION

 

At the June 26, 2023, regular meeting, the Committee achieved consensus to agendize this item for discussion in response to a request by Council to consider developing a responsive statement that may be issued through City Council when local and/or national acts of violence, hatred, injustice, or other similar incidents occur.
