BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION: On November 11 2008 the City Council approved a construction contract with C.T. & F. Inc. for the Fire Station #3 Fiber Optic Installation Project P 912. This project provides the necessary data link between City Hall and the new Fire Station #3 and through the extension of an addition black jacketed fiber optic cable provides for the future installation of a traffic monitoring camera at the intersection of Slauson Avenue and Bristol Parkway. The project consisted of the installation of 1 890 feet of 3 conduit 5 750 feet of 48 strand single mode yellow jacketed fiber optic cable (data) 4 730 feet of 48 strand single mode black jacketed fiber optic cable (future monitoring camera) pull boxes and a patch panel in the new fire station.
