Fulwood Staff recommends the City Council consider a fee waiver request made for the Culver City Car Show and direct staff as deemed appropriate. BACKGROUND On May 13 2006 the Downtown Business Association (DBA) is proposing to host the Culver City Car Show. This would be the third annual car show hosted by the DBA. As proposed the car show would be presented in the same general area as in the prior two years: along Culver Boulevard from Duquesne Avenue to the south and Ince Boulevard on the north. DISCUSSION Mr. Jay Handal representative of the DBA has submitted information to Staff related to the planned layout of the 2006 Car Show. After evaluating this information staff has estimated City costs associated with the Car Show to be approximately $15 000. These costs would be incurred primarily by the Public Works and Police Departments. Mr. Handal has requested the City Council grant a fee waiver. In 2005 staff recommended and City Council approved a fee waiver requested by the DBA. However given the fiscal challenges being faced by the City the City of Culver City California City Council Agenda Item Report circumstances have changed and staff is unable to support the requested fee waiver.
