RECOMMENDATION

Staff recommends the City Council authorize the release of a Request for Proposals (RFP) for the installation of 10 electric vehicle charging stations for use by City vehicles at the Transportation Facility.


BACKGROUND

The City of Culver City continues to explore new vehicle technologies in the effort to remove the City fleet from traditional petroleum fuel. Since 2014, the City has taken delivery of several types of electric vehicles that have since been integrated into the City's fleet. As the City's fleet continues to expand to include additional electric and partially electric vehicles, enhanced charging infrastructure is needed.


DISCUSSION

In order to promote the continued expansion of the City's alternative fuel vehicle fleet, staff recommends that a request for proposal for the expansion and upgrade of electric vehicle charging infrastructure at the City's Transportation Facility be released.
