RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends that the City Council approve the final plans and specifications and authorize the publication of a notice inviting bids for construction of the Signalized Intersection Safety Improvement Project, PL013.
BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION
Culver City's Local Road Safety Plan (LRSP) report was finalized in November 2021. The LRSP analyzed collision data over a five-year period citywide and identified the top high-risk intersections. Nine signalized intersections were identified to seek grant funding for safety improvements.
On March 23, 2022, the City received the Program Supplement Agreement from the State of California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) Highway Safety Improvement Program (HSIP) for the Unsignalized Safety Improvement Project. Improvements include new traffic signal hardware, installation of protected left-turn arrows, and implementation of leading pedestrian interval.
