RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends the City Council (1) accept the work performed by Southwest Pipeline and Trenchless Corp; (2) authorize filing a Notice of Completion; and authorize the release of the retention funds in the amount of $206,468.76 after the expiration of the 35-day lien period, for the construction of the Sewer Main Lining Rehabilitation Project (Phases 4), PZ-906.
BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION
On December 8, 2014, the City Council awarded a contract to Southwest Pipeline and Trenchless Corp (Southwest Pipeline) to construct the Sewer Main Lining Rehabilitation Project, PZ-906 (Phase 4) in the amount of $3,141,590.00 and $627,410.35 in change order authority.
On October 22, 2015, the City Council approved Change Order No. 1 in the amount of $833,350 to install additional 460 sewer lateral to mainline connection 'top hat' trenchless lateral sealing and authorized change order contingency of $627,410 ($340,000 for additional 200 top hats and remaining $287,411 for unforeseen conditions).
