RECOMMENDATION

Staff Recommends the City Council approve a general services agreement with ABM for exhaust fan replacement services in an amount not-to-exceed $115,593.


BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION

The Transportation Department's Fleet Services Division conducts their maintenance of all City vehicles in the Facility's maintenance building which is composed of eight bays, a weld shop, and a mezzanine level with a parts storage shop. With the work that is being performed in the maintenance building, it is essential that the ventilation system is up-to-date and performing at full capacity. Exhaust fans are an integral part of a building's ventilation and fire life safety system. A recent Facility Assessment found that the exhaust fans are past the expected service life. Internally we have replaced the smaller exhaust fans which is 10 out of a total of 16. Unfortunately, we are not able to complete the replacement of the remaining six exhaust fans due to the size and resulting difficulties.

Culver City Municipal Code (CCMC) Section 3.07.065 exempts professional and general services from the formal competitive bid process.
