BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION: In order to be eligible to receive certain highway funds a municipality must routinely inspect and rate each street segment utilizing a pavement management program. The City uses the Army Corp of Engineers software MicroPaver to manage the street network. The City has utilized specialized consultants to review the conditions of each street segment and enter the data into the MicroPaver pavement management program. The program then assigns a pavement condition index (PCI) on a scale of 1 to 100 (with 100 being the best condition). The program also provides recommendations on the maintenance application of each street segment. Streets rated 80 to 100 are considered to be in excellent condition and maintenance is not required.
