RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends that the Equity and Human Relations Advisory Committee (EHRAC) receive and file a report from the Los Angeles County Commission on Human Relations regarding Hate Crimes in Los Angeles County and Culver City.
BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION
At the July 25, 2023, meeting in discussion regarding the workplan, Member Rona expressed a desire to add Hate Crimes to the discussion as an area of focus, to which staff responded that such an item was being considered and that additional information would be shared. The Los Angeles County Commission on Human Relations reached out to staff in January 2023 to request an opportunity to partner, which resulted in the recent announcement of The Los Angeles County Commission on Human Relations presentation of the most recently published Hate Crime Reports with a focus on Culver City and related crimes to EHRAC and the Culver City Community, scheduled for September 26, 2023.
