RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends that the Equity and Human Relations Advisory Committee (EHRAC) (1) receive a report from the Race Relations Event Ad Hoc Subcommittee; (2) if so desired, discuss and consider approval of the report's recommendations; and (3) determine next steps as deemed necessary.
BACKGROUND
As a part of the FY 2023/2024 work plan, the Race Relations - Community Conversation event is the second of a two-part series designed to help facilitate the education and encourage the sharing of and listening to different perspectives.
At the July 25, 2023, Regular Meeting, during discussions revolving around the work plan and proposed consolidation of events, EHRAC reached a consensus to move forward with "Community Conversations- Race Relations."
At the August 22, 2023, Special Meeting, the Race Relations Event Ad Hoc Subcommittee was created, and members were appointed thereto.
At the September 26, 2023, Special Meeting, consensus was achieved to hear a report from the Race Relations Event Ad Hoc Subcommittee at the January 23, 2024, Regular Meeting.
