BACKGROUND: The existing lane line striping and pavement markings on Washington Boulevard west of Sepulveda Boulevard to the westerly City boundary of Walnut Avenue/Del Rey Avenue are faded and need to be repainted. The proposed repainting plan adheres to the City s Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plan (BPMP) by creating 5 wide eastbound and westbound bicycle lanes along approximately 86% of the segment and where narrow installation of share the road sharrows along the remaining 14% (Project).i ii The BPMP was adopted by Resolution of the City Council on November 8 2010 (see Attachment 1).
